Come to the Stable; Come to the Resurrected Christ

Come to the Stable; Come to the Resurrected Christ

by the Rev. Paul Seiler

Come to the stable to PRAISE Immanuel, God with us, of whom the prophet Isaiah foretold would be born of a Virgin,

NIV Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the LORD Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel.

Come to the stable to WORSHIP Him of whom the prophet Micah prophesied would be born in Bethlehem,

NIV Micah  5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for Me a ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old from ancient times.

Come to the stable to Him born King of the Jews, with the OFFERING of yourself. Come to worship the King of the Jews, as the wise men of old,

NIV Matthew 2:10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with His mother Mary and they bowed down and worshipped Him. Then they opened their treasures and present Him with gifts of gold and of incense and myrrh.

Come to the stable to adore Him, who is the LIGHT of the world.

NIV John 1:6  There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning the Light, so that through Him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the Light. The true Light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

Come to the stable to ponder the MYSTERY of God’s will in sending forth His Son into this sinful world for our redemption,

NIV Ephesians 1:7-9 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And He made known to us the MYSTERY of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ….

Come to the stable to find FORGIVENESS. The Angel, speaking to Joseph, to whom Mary was betrothed said,

NIV. Matt. 1: 20-21 Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.

Come to the stable to give thanks to the Lamb of God, who redeemed us with His PRECIOUS blood. The Apostle Peter, in his first letter, wrote of Christ’s precious blood by which we are redeemed,

NIV  1 Peter 1:18,19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver and gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Come not only to the Christ born in a lowly stable, but come to the RESURRECTED Christ, who is the resurrection and the life.

The Lord Jesus speaking to Martha said,

NIV John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?

Come and BOW DOWN before Him, who is the King of kings and Lord of lords,

NIV Rev. 19:15-16 Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron sceptre. He treads the winepress of the wrath of God Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh he has this name written, King of kings, and Lord of lords.

Come to the REIGNING King Jesus to worship Him. The resurrected Lord Jesus said to His disciples,

NIV Matt. 28: 19-20 All authority in heaven and on earth has been give to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Let us come to the risen Lord Jesus Christ, who is the LIGHT of God in this dark world.

NIV 1John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light in Him there is no darkness at all.

Come to the Almighty God, in the name of the Lord Jesus to HUMBLE yourselves before Him, and seek His forgiveness.

NIV. Matthew 11: 28-30 Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke up you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
