Who We Are
Our St Paul’s Church community is made up of people from all walks of life. We are Christians by faith, Presbyterian in denomination.
We meet on Sundays at 9:30am and 6:30pm (changing to 5pm as of 3 March) to praise and worship a wonderful God who loves each one of us, regardless of who we are, where we have been or what we have done in life.
We are a city church, on the fringe of Brisbane’s CBD, but our people come from many suburbs on both the north and south sides of the city and also beyond. We enjoy fellowship with one another on Sunday mornings and especially like to catch up and chat over light refreshments in the church hall after the service. We especially love to welcome visitors too.
We value the Scottish heritage of our denomination and are mindful of those servants of God who have gone before us.
We appreciate the legacy of a historic Church and respect the past but we are looking forward into a modern future. We are firmly grounded in the core principles of the Christian Faith as understood from our Presbyterian heritage and are committed to worshipping God in accordance with the principles of His word.
We are also committed to our custodianship of a piece of Queensland history, namely our heritage-listed church buildings, designed in the 1880’s by the Colonial Architect of the day, FDG Stanley. Read more here.
What we believe
As Christians, we believe ….
- in the authority of the Bible as the word of God;
- that Jesus, God’s only Son, gave His life on the Cross to cancel out our sins;
- that through His death on the cross we have the privilege of asking for His forgiveness;
- and that being forgiven and following His ways we can be assured of eternal life.
